Leerdam Tour: a historic AR city walk through the glass city of Leerdam
Together with the city marketing of the glass city of Leerdam, we developed Leerdam Tour: a free app for discovering the historic town on the river Linge. At many hotspots, text, audio, video and augmented reality tell the story of the town and its glass.

Walk at your own pace
On an interactive map you follow the full route or pick individual locations. GPS shows where you are and which way you are facing.
Augmented reality at the hotspots
- P.M. Cochius, former director of the glass factory and founder of the National Glass Museum, appears digitally in front of you and talks about glass design.
- Paintings come to life: Mrs Van Aerden explains why she had her almshouse built in the eighteenth century.
- The historic Steigerpoort city gate stands at full scale in its old spot once more.
Content management in your own hands
The app runs on the CTXR platform. Through an online content management system the town maintains the content itself: locations, texts, audio and video.
