Managed by an AI agent, not an old-fashioned form

The CTXR platform can be managed by a modern AI agent instead of a traditional form-based admin system. You describe what should change — a route, a point of interest, a piece of copy — in plain language, and the change lands correctly in the underlying structured data.

That's not just more convenient: with no separate login screen, database or plugin layer to break into, the content is also safer. And because every page is built directly from that structured data, a CTXR site is naturally more findable for both search engines and AI assistants.

This is part of a broader shift we call Agentic Experience (AX) — read more about what that means.

Frequently asked

How does CTXR help cities and cultural organisations?

CTXR (City Tour Extended Reality) is a modular, scalable and open data platform that unlocks urban and area information through interactive maps, routes and Points of Interest (POIs). It lays a digital layer over the physical environment, so locations become carriers of structured, enriched information for citizens, visitors and developers.

What value does CTXR deliver to developers and agencies?

Developers can plug in data streams — OUP, calendars, monuments, XR assets, AI agents — through open APIs, and build custom components, routes and place-lists without rebuilding core infrastructure. The platform is modular, XR-ready and based on open standards (JSON, GeoJSON, RESTful APIs).

Can I set up and try my own routes without coding skills?

Yes. The free Sandbox lets you create your own route right away. There's an AI wizard to guide you along, and a comprehensive tech guide on GitHub — just in case.

Are there costs involved?

Yes and no. The Sandbox is free, but limited. Upgrading to a Pro or Business account helps us keep the platform running and developing — and unlocks more capacity for you.

How do my end users benefit?

End users discover, create, save and share personalised routes and place-lists in a browser-based PWA. They receive proximity notifications and access multilingual and audio (text-to-speech) content — even offline when cached.

How does CTXR handle data and content quality?

CTXR supports automated enrichment (GenAI) alongside editorial workflows and versioning, so generated content can be reviewed and published through the admin dashboard. It couples 3D-tiles and geodata from the OUP with monument information, presented as Points of Interest in a list and on an interactive map.

Is CTXR secure and privacy conscious?

Access is centralised through a Single Point of Access (SPoA), with role-based admin controls, logging and GDPR-compliant account management. Active tracking is not required in standard deployments.

Can CTXR connect with other systems, like the Open Urban Platform or AI platforms?

Yes — CTXR integrates with whatever platform suits you. It's designed for direct integration with OUP 3D-tiles and geodata, and can expose POI feedback back to municipal systems, enabling co-creation and reuse of city datasets.

What deployment and commercial options are available?

Tiers range from a free Sandbox for testing to Starter, Professional, Business and Customized plans. Options include dedicated instances, SSO, higher quotas and standalone packaging for offline or private deployments.

How quickly can a city or organisation get a pilot running?

A typical pilot — technical prep, AI enrichment, backend and frontend work, testing — is scoped to deliver an initial monuments/POI layer within weeks. A full monument layer within a two-month window is realistic.
